Cardiff Vineyard Church

What is Alpha?

Alpha gives everyone the opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, informal environment. We eat together (coffee and cake!), hear a short talk about an aspect of the Christian faith, and then have the opportunity to share thoughts.

During the discussion, everyone is welcome to contribute their opinions and no question is off limits.
We explore questions such as: Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

The course runs for 8 weeks, usually on a weekday evening, and features a one-off, not-to-be-missed 'away day' on a Saturday towards the end of the course.

Who is Alpha For?

Alpha is for anyone. People attend from a variety of backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. They come to investigate questions about the existence of God, and the meaning of life. Some people want to get beyond religion and find a relationship with God that really changes life. Some might just be curious!

Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. Everyone is welcome.

How Much Will it Cost?

The course is totally free!

When is it?

The Alpha Course will launch on Thursday 12th October with an evening of live music, a licensed bar, and a short thought-provoking talk 'Is there more to life than this?' which introduces the Alpha Course starting the week afterwards. There will be street food from the highly recommended El Chilango Cocina Mexicana to buy on the night, so come hungry! The evening starts at 7:45pm. Grab a free ticket below.
Venue: The Gate, Keppoch Street, CF24 3JW.

The Alpha Course will run from the following week, 8-10pm, every Thursday for 8 weeks, also at The Gate.

"What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions life and death and their meaning." – The Guardian, London
