Cardiff Vineyard Church

Our mission statement

God has called us to Cardiff to grow an imaginative, relevant, and outward-looking community of people who passionately worship God and seek to serve those who have less. We aim to make and equip disciples, raise up leaders, plant new churches, and be a blessing to the wider body of Christ based on the truth of the Bible, the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and the joy of knowing Jesus Christ.

Our values

Captivated by Jesus and compelled by his love to be...

We want to be a community completely captivated by the person of Jesus. Captivated by his voice, his wisdom, his grace, his compassion. Captivated by his holiness, his gentleness, and his truthfulness.

When we are captivated by Jesus we are compelled to act. Because how can we not when we know and experience just how much he loves us? Love changes, love transforms, love acts.

shameless-worshippersShameless Worshippers

The chief end of man is to glorify God and love him forever.

To be shameless in our worship mans to have our shame taken away. This was done when Jesus died for us on the cross, taking away any guilt we feel, and showing us we are loved.

It also means being abandoned in the posture of our hearts to God. To follow him wholeheartedly. To be completely and utterly free.

kingdom-carriersKingdom Carriers

The kingdom of God is the living, breathing presence and purpose and reign of God on our planet.

Jesus talks about the kingdom of God in the Bible, saying 'What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into sixty pounds of flour until it worked through all the dough." Luke 13 v 20-21

We are like the yeast spreading through the dough - people carrying God's presence wherever we go.

courageous-compassionCourageously Compassionate

The Bible tells us over and over again that God' s heart is for the poor, the lost, the lonely, the broken the marginalised, the hungry. The fatherless, the orphan, and the widow.

He calls us to partner with him in loving others, in being compassionate, even (or especially) when it cost us.

"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6 v 8

communityGrace-filled Community

Grace changes everything. It is a gift given to us from God - forgiven, set free, and loved by the creator of all things.

When we know we're accepted by God, no matter what we've done, no matter what we might do in the future, it changes our hearts, our attitudes, our relationships, our communities.

We are called to welcome people with open arms, to accept, encourage, and support one another as we find Jesus together, wherever we're at, however messy our lives might be.

generosityOutrageously Generous

To follow Jesus is to change the question of our lives from 'What can I get from this?' to 'What can I give?'

We want to be a community known for its generosity - that we look after and provide for those in need. That we open our homes to others. That we give of our time and our money to those who need it more than us.
