Cardiff Vineyard Church

What to Expect Banner

Where do you meet?
We meet at The Gate on Keppoch Street - click here for a map.

What time are the services?
Our morning service is at 10.30am. This service includes Vineyard Kids and Youth church, for ages 9 months-18, and we have a crèche for little ones and their parents with a live feed to the service.
Our evening service is at 7pm. We don’t cater for little ones at the evening service, so it’s aimed at those around 16 years and older.

What should I wear?
There is no specific dress code, and most of us keep it fairly casual on a Sunday.

Where can I park?
For the morning service we have some spaces available in the car park of the Mackintosh Centre (across the road from The Gate), and we tend to park on the streets surrounding The Gate. At the evening service we don’t have access to the car park, so we all park in the streets surrounding the Gate. As long as you can parallel park you’ll be fine!

What about my kids?
During the Sunday morning service we have Kids groups for ages 9 months – 11 years, and a youth group for ages 11-18 years. The friendly welcome team on the door at church can tell you where to take your kids, you can sign them in from 10.20am, and pick them up after the service (usually 12 noon).

What should I expect?
When you arrive you will be greeted by our welcome team on the door, who will show you where to go and give you a bulletin, which has lots of information about what’s going on in the life of the church. We provide free tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks (we love doughnuts!) before and after the service, so make sure you help yourself.
We kick off the service with around 20 minutes of sung worship, led by a band at the front, after which we have some notices about events coming up in church and any stories of what God’s been doing amongst our community. Then we have a short break (good chance to nip to the loo or speak to the person next to you!), before a member of the pastoral staff will do a talk lasting 25-30 minutes based on the bible. At the end of the talk we like to allow some time and space for people to respond to the message, and we usually sing one last song whilst anyone that wishes to can come forwards to be prayed for by someone. Then we tend to hang around for a bit for another cup of coffee and a chance to catch up – this is a great time to head to the Newcomers’ Desk, where a member of the pastoral team will be on hand to welcome you, and offer you a Welcome Pack which has lots of handy tips about getting involved in the church.
